Okay, so first of all… you are an excellent writer. Your use vocabulary is expansive, and I never seemed to get bored while reading your pieces… they are all so different. They are different from each other, and different throughout each essay, so the reader never drifts. You seem like a very well cultured person, and it shows in your writing without a doubt. What other places have you lived?!
After skimming your posts, my favorite has to be your first one. It sounds as though we have similar taste in humor. The pick up line at the end really made my day ha-ha- what kind of seminar were you there for??? From beginning to end, this piece was really very excellent.
Also, the post about your textbook was great- “It measures two and a half inches thick and holds the weight of a small child. At a staggering 1687 pages and 10 pt font, here stands my textbook "Pathophysiology: Concepts of Altered Health States, Eighth Edition"- perfecto. Text books suck man. And your final paragraph was terrific, with the explanations throughout your day. Looking forward to your coming posts! (All like 2 of them, I believe)… yay!

Mercedes- you seem to be a very in depth writer, with close attention to detail, which as absolutely wonderful. I really enjoyed your post “Its More Than That”, about the television… how true is it that something of such little power, brings so much power and influence to the human mind. Oh, and Thursdays are my favorite day too (Greys!). “In actuality the television consumes the anger or even desperation coming from our conversations instead of directing it toward each other. Through it all the television is our outlet for stressful days, and upsetting people”. So completely true.
Your “Reminiscent Of” post was great. I just read over your essay from this past week, it was also terrific. It is always enjoyable and easy to read something of someone’s who truly enjoys what they are doing, and it seems you do! Excellent pieces Mercedes.

- My name is Emily, but I have been called by Mimi since I can't remember when. I was born in Danville, CA, which is a town not far from San Francisco just across the bay. I was raised by my hippie parents Ron and Kris, and I have three older brothers- Justin, Zack, and Ben. My family and I moved to Arizona when I was 6- I went to Laguna Elementary, Mountainside Middle School, and graduated from Desert Mountain Highschool. After living in Sonora Dorm last year, I now live with my two best friends in Downtown Scottsdale, along with my golden retriever, Maggie May. I work for a family with three children and am basically a nanny, although I don't really like being called a nanny!- it makes me feel like a granny... before that I worked at The Counter in Keirland Commons. Then a few other jobs at The Mix in Downtown Scottsdale selling jewelry at Fitrou, and then at a surf shop, Kala 808. When I am not working or at school, I spend as much time as I can at a barn in North Scottsdale where I board and ride my Half-Arabian, Bobby C. I have been riding since I was 9, and competing since 11. This is something I hope I will be doing the rest of my life!
